Hi Friends,
When the weather starts turning chilly, I’m always craving soups. Here in WI the weather has been playing yo yo (one day in the upper 70s and the next in the 50s), so I’m prepping some freezer soups (don’t forget to label them like I did lol). Today I’m sharing 3 must make fall soups, let’s dive in.
Butternut squash soup - this has got to be my all time favorite soup - I serve it with grilled cheese and apples (or apple grilled cheese) and the kids actually eat it. Tip: buy pre peeled/sliced butternut squash.
Chicken and dumplings soup this is one of Ben’s (my 7 year old son) favorite things I make! In the recipe I’ve included instructions for both instant pot and stovetop. It’s such a comforting delicious soup.
Minestrone soup with parmesan croutons - a hearty vegetable soup with a topping of parmesan croutons, yum yum yum.
While not necessary, here are two tools I absolutely love having in the kitchen for soup season: an immersion blender and an Instant Pot
On the blog this week
5 Ingredient Chicken Pitas - There’s a brand new Five-Ingredient Friday up on the blog, and it’s one of my favorites ever, so easy and amazing, hope you love it!
Love List - In this weeks’ Love List I’m sharing a brand new face cleanser I’m trying, a cute cardigan, and books I’m reading!!
Personal Stories
Wow, what a weekend we had. I took Sammy on a Sammy and me day to an apple orchard and was so impressed. It’s called Peck and Bushel and it’s an organic apple orchard. They have such a cute store too, we got a caramel apple kit, well worth it ($20) the kit worked and we got to enjoy caramel apples at home, it felt luxurious.
Then we went to the beach (Lake Michigan) and I couldn’t believe it was a Lake and not the Ocean. Crystal clean (albeit cold lol) water and beautiful waves. The kids had a blast.
And we drove up to Sheboygan for wood fired pizza at Il Ritrovo, so so good, well worth the drive!

“Holy heck, this was good! I’m an iced coffee fan as well and just bought some Starbucks Caramel syrup (I like just a hint of sweetness), when I saw this recipe. This was so easy and tasty (and a lot more natural than the caramel syrup ingredients!)! Perfect alternative to pumpkin flavor for fall! I guess my syrup bottle will be shelving it for a bit! Thanks for the recipe!”
