Lunchbox hacks and my easy lunch formula
Getting all the lunch hacks from the 'tok and my lunchbox fomula
Hi Friends,
It makes me seem old to refer to Tiktok as “the tok” right? I feel old, but oh well.
I read this article “10 lunchbox hacks learned from parents on TikTok (the sponge one, genius, right? But at the same time my kid would just take out the sponge and play with it like a toy, and it would result in a mess, right?) and I just had to share for all the parents of littles out there.
Side note: I do have a TikTok, but am rarely on it, I still prefer Instagram even though the algorithm hates me and never shows my content to my followers.
Ben gets to choose if he wants school lunch or for me to pack him a lunch and it’s a split, so I do still look for tips and tricks.
When I pack a lunch, this is my formula:
A vegetable or fruit
Some sort of grain
A protein source
Something fun
Here are some school lunch ideas and work lunch ideas for you.
New on the blog
9 food kid books we love - these are the ones we read on repeat, as you can see by the ratty looking, well worn book covers in picture in the post.
Jamaritas (margaritas made with jam) - best part? Only 3 ingredients!
Overnight oats - made in empty peanut butter and jelly jars!!
Love List - In this week’s Love List you’ll find a list of 47 conversation starters, the most dreamy primer and an easy teeth whitening hack without all the chemicals! AND in the sourced section, drink glasses if you have a big nose
Personal stories
The twins started mini kickers soccer and Ben is in soccer too!!
Frankie and I went to a tea party at the library, such a fun event. They had a sugar cookie everyone could decorate and then coloring book pages that said ‘tea party’ on them. So so fun.
Weekend reading
My favorite author, Emily Henry, came out with a new books - Happy Place!!!!!!! It’s so so so good. Her writing makes you feel like you’re part of the story. I’m two thirds of the way done and I already don’t want it to end, but can’t stop reading.
Also, found out what Nick and I do is actually fancy. It’s called the Scandinavian sleep method. What is the Scandinavian Sleep Method? It may sound fancy, but the theory behind the Scandinavian Sleep Method is actually very simple. Instead of sharing a single blanket or duvet, couples sleep in the same bed but each sleep under their own cover (usually without a top sheet)!
