Hi Friends,
We officially have 3 of 4 kids in all day school! I don’t know where the time went!
We do a German tradition and give the kids a Schultüte ("school cone"), which is a large cone-shaped, cornucopia-styled container made of paper or cardboard (we used poster board) filled with a few small treats. My mother made them for us and now I lovingly make them for our kids. They get them the first day school until 1st grade, but we couldn’t give the twins one and not Ben, so the three older (Ben, Freddie and Frankie) got one. A blog reader sent me a picture of a storefront in Germany with these big elaborate ones, maybe next year I’ll find some made ones from Germany because they looked amazing!!

Reader comment
Thanks so much for posting this wonderful recipe. We have stopped eating beef and now I’m having to find recipes to substitute for burgers, tacos, meatloaf and such. These burgers were way better than beef burgers. This will be a staple in my monthly menu rotation.
