Hi Friends,
It’s been cold and snowy here in WI, with the kids having snow days (← multiple)! Whenever it’s cold, it makes me crave soup, so I thought I’d share a few faves.
Soups:
Corn cauliflower chowder with bacon – warm, comforting and delicious; everything I love about a chowder
Butternut squash soup – great for the freezer and perfect for lunch
Minestrone soup with parmesan croutons – and try them with these cheesy cornbread dipping sticks
Creamy chicken gnocchi soup – made in an Instant Pot
Potato soup (no bacon) - a deliciously comforting soup with no bacon for a vegetarian soup
Try this no knead peasant bread as the perfect side!

Personal stories
We got so much snow + it was cold. We had snow days and then the twins were off school a few days because the pipes burst and there was no heat. Our power went off twice for a few hours and it made me so grateful when it came on again, we had friends who were without power all weekend long.
The kids did lots of fun indoor activities like a huge sticker poster (we’re still finding stickers on the backs of furniture, Sam is too young to keep stickers on paper lol).
Frankie started basketball!!
Weekend reads
Finished reading The Only One Left and it was phenomenal, 5/5. “Bestselling author Riley Sager returns with a Gothic chiller about a young caregiver assigned to work for a woman accused of a Lizzie Borden-like massacre decades earlier.”
I wanted to read something lighter after finishing The Only One Left and something I know I’d like, so I re-read Book Lovers and it was the best decision ever, such a good book!
Reader comment
