Thankful...here's to the weekend
The best leftover sandwich, a weekend full of Sam and a really good book recommendation
Hi Friends,
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am so thankful to you, dear reader, for being here, thank you. You have my thanks and gratitude, I’m pretty partial but I think I have the best audience around.
This week I have a few more gift guides to share!

Personal stories
What a big week for Sam! We celebrated his 2nd birthday (he started the day with us waking him up with a candle so he gets to make a wish first thing, it’s one of our birthday traditions) - how is he 2 already, I cannot believe it!
And he got his first haircut, he looks like such a big boy now!
Recipes to make
With Thanksgiving leftovers there’s a sandwich I LOVE to make, it’s:
Sourdough bread with one side spread with mayo and a little garlic powder (like a lazy garlic aioli), the other side spread with cranberry sauce spread like a jam, turkey, cheddar or brie and some greens, it’s so so good!
There always seems to be a lot of leftover cranberry sauce, doesn’t there? I make these cranberry crumble bars!
Weekend reads
I know last week I had a good book recommendation for you, and this week I have another one! Flying Solo - “A woman returns to her small Maine hometown, uncovering family secrets that take her on a journey of self-discovery and new love, in this warm and charming novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Evvie Drake Starts Over.” I’d recommend listening to it as the narrator is Julia Whelan, my fave!
Reader comment
Made these for a Christmas cookie swap at church and everyone wanted the recipe. I followed all directions except I made them smaller due to the amount of people and I added walnuts which tasted awesome in my opinion. Great easy cookie recipe!
