Who is Crust Hemsworth?
The lesser known (but still famous) Hemsworth brother and sourdough galore
Hi Friends,
I’ll admit, I’m one of “those people” who started a sourdough starter during the pandemic. But unlike most who may have given up, I still religiously bake a loaf of sourdough bread every weekend.
And, my sourdough starters’ punny name is Crust Hemsworth, like the actor Chris Hemsworth who is in Thor. My husband makes fun little post it note name tags! The current note reads “The Mighty Crust Hemsworth - Sourdough of Thunder” lol
It’s been a long-standing tradition of bakers to name their sourdough starter culture - I’ve even heard it’s bad luck if you don’t lol! The sourdough community is intense.
This is the book I’d recommend - it’s called The Perfect Loaf and is from the author of the blog with the same name. Its where I poured over and learned learned learned.
I keep a zero waste sourdough starter, meaning I always use the discard after feeding it.
I love sourdough for this tuna salad with pickled celery
Do you keep a sourdough starter?

Personal stories
The BIG NEWS is that I went down to Part-Time work and am now spending more time with the kids and family. It was the right decision for our family at this time, and I’m eternally grateful that it was an option. Now I get to be the one carting kids around and honestly, I love it and am excited (and of course equal parts nervous, but mainly excited, it just been such a great week)!
Before Ben went to school he asked if I could wait to fold the laundry with him. YUP, DEFINITELY WAITED! And it was the sweetest thing ever, he actually helped fold laundry and my heart melted!
We went out to dinner and the kids were really good, always makes me happy!
Weekend reading
Out of my reading list, the one book I recommend because it was definitely 5 out of 5 stars is In Someone Else’s Shoes
Amazon item you didn’t know you needed
This stuff actually works - totally recommend, all you do is spray it on some really dirty dishes, wait a few seconds, and then the dirt comes right off!
Are you into sourdough? I always love hearing from you, just hit reply and let me know!
